Contemplating ones Cumulous Nimbus....

This was actually from the weekend when I arrived, before I knew I would get REAL homework and be expected to do it! Oh, the joy that was the calm before the storm of stretching both sides of ones brain, I mean seriously, how many verbs does one language really need!
This morning I went in search of breakfast down this little street...

...and I found THIS!

I had lunch today with two of the  boy's from my class, one is a Physicist (at the ripe old age of 26) I mean seriously, that's like being an Astronaut! He is working on Biofuel from Algae, we have ideal conditions in Australia for this peep's, I have asked him to keep in touch for when his business "floats", will keep you all posted :0) It was such a pleasure to have the company of Christoff and Jan, two fabulously interesting and engaging guys! and my first two friends from school!

on the way home I went down THIS little Street....

and found this, nothing quite like a good chubby Cherubs!
The thing I have really noticed is that my fellow student's have apparently "done this before".
They take lovely notes, and they actually practice at night, it's quite a revelation! So I have purchased a "gomme" (eraser, didn't want to say rubber:0) and am on the job for an immaculate work book...
Have now downgraded expectations to working ones way through a menu and being able to adequately order a glass of "vino blanco" although I did impress the lads today when I ordered "helado" (ice) even though I thought I was all that and a bucket of chips yesterday helado is actually the really correct word!...priorities darlings! I think learning to flirt with the Espanole locals may have to go through to the keeper this trip....

What an exquisite city this is though, effortless in it's deliciousness, like some confident gorgeous chiquita who flicks her hair, lowers hers eyes and looks at you with a "come on I know I'm special" It's fabulous to just breath the air!

PS I did do my homework, there are a couple of blanks but at least I didn't just google them! although....:0) Thanks for sharing x

imperfect VERBS...what are they good for?!!! dundundun...DUN...

(absolutely nothing ??) do it again............! First day of school oh my goodness... AND I have home work (which I haven't done yet) so I'd best make this snappy!
Imperfect verbs, do we reach a time in our lives when we're just beyond them? I mean surely life it too short for learning about things that are broken, although maybe that's what makes us and our lives interesting... right, enough of the Donna Hay oops I mean Louise Hay :0)
Today was wonderful, but very "brain strainingly" well straining... My fellow students are so gorgeous, it makes you so aware of what a beautiful World we have when you realise all the clever peeps that live in it, most of my fellow students are onto their third language, although I didn't disappoint with my savvy grasp of Australian, English AND American!
They are so young and lovely, I'm so happy to enjoy their company without having to employ them (the Y gen sheesh..)
This is my school (just in front of the white van) it's a lovely Calle
Where I am NOT shopping, since I live 1.5 minutes from school :0)
Today we went around the table introducing ourselves and sharing our ages....hmmmm, my answer was (of course in Spanish) I have "sufficient" years... (and I'm living in a really nice spot 1.5 minutes away) so there are some advantages to being a grown up....
Not my front door
After class, I threw myself into a chair at my local to review my notes (actually to snarf down a glass of Vino Blanco with "blocks" of hielo )...this is a photo of the Rococo entry to the place "next door" I couldn't even bring myself to stand up to take it! Anyhooo suffice to say it is not "quite" my front door, but you can see why those tourist types are mad for it! I had just ordered my second Vino blanco and I needed to come home to Skype with my beautiful little sister,  I painstakingly constructed a sentence along the lines of "I live there, may I bring the glass back later por favour" bless them they said yes, (or maybe they said you are a very unusual woman and we are pleased you like our glasses so much and now you are frightening us take it and go) anyhooo, I gave them a big fat smile, took the vino home and had an awesome chat to my beautiful sister...Skype is amazing, actually as I've said before technology is amazing, don't know how it works, don't need to know am simply impressed that it does!
Just a little bit of gorgeous on the walk to and from school

This IS my front door (no it's not crooked) I was rushing when I took the photo.
Sense of dimension...that little dark hole to the left of the door knob is the keyhole, about waist height, it is one V big door!
and this my Calle (Street) what lucky seƱorita!
O.K. time to do my homework, can't disappoint the lovely Carlos and Biele tomorrow, however, if I get any grief (especially from the very wonderfully white "toothed" Biele, who said I need to work on my numbers pffft) I will say "darling buy a belt and pull your pants up" I do not wish to see the top of you Calvin Klein jocks!
I LOVE being a grown up!

Hasta Luego and thank you for sharing xxx

my digs...

Well, it's pretty delicious here in down town Valencia, I am in the "El Carme" district (the old city centre) and its gorgeous.
Am right next door to the Museum for Ceramics which is pretty handy if I get lost as it's a "national treasure", on the tourist maps and easy to be directed to...as I was by a mighty fine swarthy Espanole policeman on day one when I came out of a different door at the supermarket (Super Mercado)...Blush!
It also will prove pretty handy if I want to speak to Korean or Japanese tourists, I had lunch (seared tuna YUM!) at the little cafe on my corner opposite it yesterday and they were EVERYWHERE!
The bells, just like the post office clock in Kalgoolie

My apartment is lovely, there are bells everywhere, not IN the apartment! (I haven't spotted any small hunchy types about, but there sure is someone out there taking care of bell ringing) happily though, they just sound beautiful and fitting for the architecture and location. Today I also was so fortunate to have a beautiful little quartet playing Vivaldi and other peeps like him, just downstairs in the square AWESOME!
There is a little bit of  mesh on the side of the Ceramics Museum that I see from my terrace, I think they are installing a "Welcome Radi sign" I will post pics when they're finished :0)

this is my local and a hot bed for meeting groups of Tourists, brilliant!

zip's akimbo

But she got here in the end...slightly dishevelled and a little bit sheepish and having developed a penchant for tickets on herself, it was a happy reunion! My treasure trove has arrived I can now go out and "phrase" Spanish at the locals, download my photos and don't have to wear my Qantas pj's for my first day at school (a very unflattering shade of mushroom)....

The journey so far (so very, very far...)

Well , I have finally arrived in Valencia (pronounced WAlenthia for those in the know) hopefully I will be joined by my suite case sometime soon, apparently it has been having a wow of a time back in London communing with the other items in the Air France luggage hold, with any luck I may end up with a cute little piece of “French carry on”...oh... sounds like fun actually...

Anyhooo, it was a slow and arduous journey to make the last 45 minute flight from Madrid to here, in fact that little connection took about 18 hours.
Original flight came in two hours late (avoiding Volcanic Ash, which is a fair call on the pilots part no complaints here) subsequently there was a knock on effect with connections, the next flight (6.00pm) was delayed then, all belted up and ready to go some...passengers... words fail me (actually they don’t it just would be rude to write them) decided they wanted to get off!

Another hour and a half before they could get the stairs back for them to disembark, stairs! They should have just been pushed out of the door onto the tarmac!

So EVERYONE missed their next connections, Hotel accommodation all round, except only two staff (you fill in the time line....) bus to hotel more lining up, got to within two people to the counter and it was just like the real story of Christmas...no room at the Inn!!!

Taxi to another hotel and there were all the other people from the flight, it was like an episode of the Amazing race.... everyone head down jostling to get to the front, Anyhooo got to bed at 5.30am (and I drank the can of beer from the mini bar and didn’t tell them HA! Take that Iberian Air, I don't even really like beer but they made me so cranky) up at 8.30 (It was rather nice to have my first Euro continental breakfast in a while; I love those cheese and cold meat platters (none of that fruit and cereal stuff for me!)

Another five hours at the airport, and here I am!

Valencia is GORGEOUS!!! however, I do have a myth to dispel, that old chestnut "the rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain" bollocks it's falls mainly on the terrace in Radi's boots whilst she's having a disco nap....Sigh... sunshine today, nearly dry :0)
