Mi aerodeslizador está lleno de anguilas ...

Some more "life gems" I have learnt in this delicious city in Espanole....

In Spain it is very rare to find "take away" coffee, the beautiful Spanish people believe you should sit savour and enjoy, which is a beautiful philosophy (if only I could find a good coffee)

That warm mini croissants filled with Nutella are squishily AWESOME!

If you come home with an open bottle of vino poking out of your hand bag and the cork falls out as you get inside, do NOT bend over to pick it up, it is very very messy....(applies the World over)
Headless (not legless) in Valencia
Small Spanish men in questionable hats that show you a ring on each hand (including their wedding finger) and say they just want to dance, are not to be trusted...You realise this when they  then come back a little later and offer your companions the equivalent of two camels (one cooked) and a scooter and possibly a nice piece of carry on luggage if they will leave you behind...
On Sundays the bells ring and ring and MANY old people get out for a wander...they are very slow and would do a basketball team proud with their "unexpected" ducks and weaves...

It's quite astonishing how many outfits you can actually get from a "capsule" wardrobe...

A scarf makes everything look just a little more swanky.
another good looking rooster from Valencia, check out those pigeons...

That when you have homework they could throw Javier Bardam AND Antonio Banderos  on the  pony skin rug in the sitting room and you would just have to say not now boys I'm busy...

That you never know where a car may come from....

Taking the time to transcribe  "My hovercraft is full of eels"... from Spanish to English can have some very unexpected benefits.... :0)

Sailing on Sunday Darlings!!! (Could finally be time to break out the sequin caftan that has been waiting for it's moment in the sun!)

Jamon Jamon... at last!

Of COURSE it was always coming, the old Chestnut!...Iberia the home of Jamon....

Today, after a rather hmmmmm shabby start, (refer last post :0) I found the Markets !!!!

Today's (Sabado's) pace....
Oh my goodness, what a lucky lucky girl!
Except that I got myself a rather "big bit" lost and had to tune into my inner pigeon to find my way home (which was wee bit scary) but all good (obviously I made it!)
This is the largest Market in Europe, it is so alive with sounds smells and things to see! (including Fartons which I promise I will try before I leave and report back!)
a little bit of Jamon perhaps?...(with a very Hamson sales man) In fact there were a huge number of outlets por Pork, I wanted to call it the Isle of Pigs, than I realised that "bay" was the word I was looking for OK! enough with the porcine quips, or we will never get our snouts out of the proverbial! and I'm not telling Porkies!
A couple of "huevos" with your jamon! enough already, but it does segue quite nicely into a wonderful story of commitment versus just being involved...in a bacon and egg breakfast the pig is committed but its just another day at the office for the chicken! I love that story, just makes  you want to be a pig! :0
the reason that I have decide to walk down five flights of stairs rather than take "Bond" my elevator who leaves you beautifully shaken not stirred
this is the entry, but just look up a little...
Yes, I do believe it's a COCKY!!!!!

The biggest sardines I've ever seen!

Another beautiful day !

Thanks for sharing xxx

a load of Vollocks....

Apparently V and B are OH you know...interchangeable in Spanish....
for a language that has so many verbs to learn (that are all perfect except for the Imperfect ones that you actually pffft just have to memorise....) so many in fact that it actually makes you just nod and smile instead of speaking because you're so afraid of getting it wrong, Yup, that was the little nugget we were given yesterday....Don't worry about it's Espaonole, with a shrug of those spunky Spanish shoulders... Thanks Carlos!

These are Balencia oranges garnished with some Vananas....

Week one done and dusted!
Who would have thunk it, out for lunch with the "gorgeous young Things" (GYT's)
Apple schnapps shots today! Have just cottoned on to the fact that is "the done thing" how interesting that in Spain everyone seems very "jolly" about it, rather than all the awful stuff that seems to happen back home

Berbs Shmerbs! Its a beautiful day!
Home for a quick disco nap and then...Ah-HA! lets do Spanish style!
GYT's and I met at a delightful bar, where I must say my Spanish skills came alive (much to the delight of my clever companions!) as in "Senore this is a very "poco" glass of vino blanco" (good grief I would have needed a ladder to get to it, it was so short) problema solved, sat on the refill that was so graciously given :0) for the rest of the night...
Then off for a wander (I was heading home I promise) free drink "chits" handed out in the Street, so GYT's and I end up in a Noches Club busting a few moves on the dance floor and drinking something with "fat coke" in it...absolutely wonderful, home by 3.30 so not a bad innings!
should have put some lippie on!

Exhausted and exhilarated in equal measures!

In no particular order...things I've discovered so far.....

What a first week it's been! xxx

Where I like to wander with my papel rolls...

My freezer and dryer! (on the terrace behind some very closed doors, lucky I'm nosy) and a very effective freezer it is too, am currently sipping a Sav Blanc “slushy”...

That a bidet is actually used to put your make up etc on top of when you can’t be bothered using a cupboard...

No girls in Spain are actually called Consuela , Rosita or Magdalena they are more likely to be called Melanie, Karen or Beatrice...

Having Butterscotch schnapps at lunch time (even when it’s on the house does NOT encourage good homework habits) this can be confirmed by three other people in my class...Muriel would have been so proud...

Spanish coffee skills are not much chop, I'm ready to leap over the counter and push them away from the machine so I can make my own...

Spanish people are delightful especially when you smile...

It’s hard to look cute walking through a very posh neighbourhood in Valencia with loo paper (or papel higieneco J) in your shopping bag...

It secretly makes you feel a bit “cool” walking through a very posh neighbourhood in Valencia with your papel higieneco in your shopping bag...

Here's a little bit of my day....

Look out boys, get those "kerchiefs" out!
Are you ready to look rolled up at the cuffs and "Jaunty" ?

and don't worry beautiful girls, I was looking at some pretty cool Dexies Midnight Runners"esque" denim dungarees today, and I SWEAR I saw some kid (or Chico) in something VERY similar to a Wham Leave Me Alone T-shirt reflected in the shop window...

Well, at the very least some of us have experience in such matters....
This is the bottom of my Bank
This is the top of my Banco, the detail is exquisite
Fairies and a Miracle, what beautiful day!

Contemplating ones Cumulous Nimbus....

This was actually from the weekend when I arrived, before I knew I would get REAL homework and be expected to do it! Oh, the joy that was the calm before the storm of stretching both sides of ones brain, I mean seriously, how many verbs does one language really need!
This morning I went in search of breakfast down this little street...

...and I found THIS!

I had lunch today with two of the  boy's from my class, one is a Physicist (at the ripe old age of 26) I mean seriously, that's like being an Astronaut! He is working on Biofuel from Algae, we have ideal conditions in Australia for this peep's, I have asked him to keep in touch for when his business "floats", will keep you all posted :0) It was such a pleasure to have the company of Christoff and Jan, two fabulously interesting and engaging guys! and my first two friends from school!

on the way home I went down THIS little Street....

and found this, nothing quite like a good chubby Cherubs!
The thing I have really noticed is that my fellow student's have apparently "done this before".
They take lovely notes, and they actually practice at night, it's quite a revelation! So I have purchased a "gomme" (eraser, didn't want to say rubber:0) and am on the job for an immaculate work book...
Have now downgraded expectations to working ones way through a menu and being able to adequately order a glass of "vino blanco" although I did impress the lads today when I ordered "helado" (ice) even though I thought I was all that and a bucket of chips yesterday helado is actually the really correct word!...priorities darlings! I think learning to flirt with the Espanole locals may have to go through to the keeper this trip....

What an exquisite city this is though, effortless in it's deliciousness, like some confident gorgeous chiquita who flicks her hair, lowers hers eyes and looks at you with a "come on I know I'm special" It's fabulous to just breath the air!

PS I did do my homework, there are a couple of blanks but at least I didn't just google them! although....:0) Thanks for sharing x
